This year, the week (23 &#8211; 27 October) was a good opportunity to consider lifestyle, work\/life balance and especially mental health.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"recurso\">\n<div id=\"a_noticia\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"ficha_tipo1\">\n<div class=\"textoficha\">\n<p>At Ferrovial Agroman&#8217;s construction projects in Heathrow, the team has had the opportunity to attend mini-health checks and to undertake several small challenges. Among others, some of the options were taking 10,000 steps a day (instead of the average 6,000 or 7,000 that people take if they don&#8217;t exercise); increasing regular physical activity and losing no more than 0.5-1kg (1-2lb) a week; or holding stand up meetings. For those who considered themselves already fit and healthy, the idea was to throw down a challenge of the week -most push-ups, most miles run, most miles biked.<\/p>\n<p>At the Northern Line Extension (NLE) project, the team conducted opinion surveys, challenged their canteens to provide healthier options, and encouraged everyone to take responsibility for improving their health and wellbeing. In support of better mental health across the project, they called for volunteers to join their mental health steering committee, to help develop and maintain a mental health plan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"image-section \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n        <figure class=\"image-section__figure\">\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.newsroom.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/15144303\/great-engagement-during-the-health-wellbeing-week2.jpg\" title=\"great-engagement-during-the-health-wellbeing-week2\" alt=\"\" class=\"image-section__image\">\n                    <\/figure>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>Among other initiatives, the team at Head Office arranged for posture assessments, a presentation by a chiropractor, and the very exciting Health &amp; Wellbeing Bike Challenge, in which all Ferrovial Agroman projects across London took part with the objective of supporting the Cris Cancer foundation. This event challenged the teams with completing 24.4km (total length of Ferrovial Agroman UK&#8217;s tunnelling projects) in 45 minutes riding static bikes. After lots of motivation and team spirit, the team \u2018Head Office Financers&#8217; came in first, and one of their members, Jon Garcia, was also the fastest rider overall (followed very closely by Diarmuid Bairead, from team \u2018Head Office Spinners&#8217;).
