The early opening of the Express lanes will bring more reliable travel times and congestion relief in the western-most part of the corridor, which is also one of the most congested areas of the project.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ms-rteFontSize-3\"><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">Construction continues to advance in the remaining segments of the corridor. As of June, the I-66 team, led by<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-5-3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en-us\/f-construction\/\">Ferrovial Construction<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en-us\/cintra\/\">Cintra<\/a><\/span><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">, has:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">Redesigned 12 interchanges<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">Constructed 63 bridges<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">Built 3.4 million square feet\u00a0of walls\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">Laid over 1.9 million tons\u00a0of asphalt, with over\u00a0one million tons laid in 2021 alone \u2013 a record!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">\u00a0The team has achieved these milestones all while maintaining traffic in the corridor for an average\u00a0200,000 vehicles\u00a0per day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-4-3\">Successfully rebuilding a corridor of this size and scope in a major metropolitan area is a tribute to the meticulous, daily coordination among the<strong>\u00a0I-66 team<\/strong>, hundreds of local and regional
