This Wednesday, February 22, the process water treatment plant at the Papresa factory in Errenteria, Gipuzkoa<\/strong>, was inaugurated. The opening ceremony for the new plant, which marks a milestone sum for Cadagua<\/a><\/strong> and Papresa<\/strong><\/a>, was presided over by the lehendakari <\/em>or president of the Basque Government, I\u00f1igo Urkullu.<\/strong> The event was also attended by Markel Olano, the general deputy of Gipuzkoa; Denis Itxaso, the delegate from the Basque Country’s government; Aizpea Otaegi, the mayor of Errenteria; Arantxa Tapi, the Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability, and Environment; Steffen Gorrig, the CEO and executive director of Quantum Capital Partners; Miguel S\u00e1nchez, the CEO of Tilman Richter and president and CEO of Papresa, and CEO of Cadagua Pablo Riesco, among other notable individuals.<\/p>\n

With this milestone, Papresa is reaffirming its commitment to more sustainable solutions, such as the one provided by the anaerobic BIOPAQ\u00aeIC technology provided by Cadagua<\/strong>. This technology eliminates more than 80% of organic pollution with hardly any energy consumption, while also producing a valuable green biogas used at the facility itself<\/strong>. All this helps reduce the plant’s carbon footprint by more than 25%<\/strong>. Papresa has been committed to a profound industrial transformation and modernization for some time, following its acquisition by Quantum Capital Partners. It therefore ensures that the water used during the papermaking process returns to nature as clean as possible with the most sustainable technology on the market. This project, which is in a complex and confined location, has been a professional challenge for Cadagua, and it was also carried out in a short time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With this milestone, Cadagua has reached 35 years of partnership with the Dutch biotechnology company Paques, implementing its technology in various projects. Cadagua installed its first wastewater treatment plant at the Mahou factory in Madrid in 1990.
