With the recent successful completion of the Interchange, the company’s first federally funded project here in Australia,\u00a0 our team wanted to find the right opportunity to give something back and say thank you for the community support.\u00a0 In the interest of minimising waste and maximizing reuse the Ferrovial team consulted with local businesses as to how to best utilise any remaining materials and equipment at the end of the project.<\/p>\n

As an important component of this reuse program the Ferrovial team donated water tanks, shelving and \u00a0cabinets, as well as an ice machine to the very appreciative Sancrox Thrumster Rural Fire Brigade.\u00a0 The shelving was well received and Mr. Allen Ryan from Sancrox Thrumster Rural Fire Brigade said that the “equipment has come in handy, \u00a0we have used it to lift equipment up off the floor of the station and to store material in a safe manner.”<\/p>\n

With a large emphasis on meeting the highest environmental standards for the project, the Ferrovial team had purchased large water tanks to maintain a clean water supply for all the workers and staff. \u00a0For the Rural Fire Brigade Mr. Ryan has said “We will use the water of the large tank for training purposes when doing training at our station”.\u00a0 Additionally, the ice machine has moved\u00a0 from being an integral part of maintaining welfare on site during hot conditions to the same critical job supporting the dedicated group of volunteers at Sancrox Thrumster.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n
