To gain the accreditation, Ferrovial Construction was scored on their efforts in delivering a positive impact against four CSR pillars:\u00a0<strong>Environment<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Workplace<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Community<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Philanthropy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Ailish Byrne, UK Sustainability Advisor at Ferrovial Construction, celebrated the positive outcome that is a result of their policies and best practices: \u201cCSR Accreditation is important for us as a business as we know we are doing so much to deliver social value. We wanted to bring these positive actions together and celebrate the great work being done with our stakeholders. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/csr-accreditation.co.uk\/\">CSR<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/csr-accreditation.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Accreditation<\/a>\u00a0allows organisations to benchmark the work already taking place with regard to social responsibility and ensures social, environmental, ethical, human rights, and consumer concerns are integrated into the business operations and strategy so it was also the perfect option to see where we can still make progress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial Construction is committed to reducing its environmental impact and enriching the quality of lives of local people by investing in social value.\u00a0Its project teams are demonstrating industry-leading initiatives to minimise their environmental impact, including trialling innovative low carbon construction machinery and renewable fuels, and working with its supply chain to introduce sustainable materials on the projects, from plastic-free tree guards to low carbon concrete mixes.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial Construction aspires to leave a positive legacy in the communities where it operates and focuses on delivering several social value commitments across the projects. These include improving access to employment for young people and people without work, providing local career opportunities through school engagement and work experience, and volunteering in local communities with local schools, community groups, and charity organisations.<\/p>\n<p>A key objective for Ferrovial Construction is to engage with and inspire future generations to consider a career in the industry. Among the STEM and skills and employability programmes supported by the company, a recent addition is the Institution of Civil Engineering\u2019s QUEST Scholarship Programme. It offers university students the opportunity to gain valuable industry experiences and tools through summer work experience placements.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
