The purpose of the contest is to promote construction contractors who, while carrying out this type of work, organise it in such a way as to ensure the safety and health of employees. The competition is organised by the National Labour Inspectorate<\/strong>, partnered with the Alliance for Safety in Construction<\/strong>. It is held in two stages – at the voivodeship and national level. The competition recognises above-standard occupational health and safety measures taken at the specific building site indicated in the application.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year the Regional Labour Inspectorate in Zielona G\u00f3ra appreciated the actions taken at the voivodeship level to improve the level of health and safety protection on the building site at the Rockwool Production Plant in Cigacice. The project implemented by Budimex<\/a> was awarded third place.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the premises of the Rockwool factory in Cigacice, a large investment took place. The subject of the contract was to extend the existing Rockwool production plant with production and warehouse buildings. Thanks to Budimex, a new two-storey production and warehouse hall with an area of over 20,000 m2<\/sup> was erected there for new production lines for manufacturing acoustic ceilings. The scope of works also included the construction of a Rockfon warehouse<\/strong> of approximately 15,000 m2<\/sup>, a security building with a weighbridge and the development of transport and auxiliary infrastructure. The cost of the investment is around PLN 100 million.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that this is not the only safety award for this project. The same project received an award in the SHE Group awards for Safety Performance in 2020<\/strong>. The number of hours worked and the number of incidents that occurred in a given year were used as criteria.<\/p>\n
