{"id":106431,"date":"2022-04-27T16:47:32","date_gmt":"2022-04-27T14:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/?post_type=new&#038;p=106431"},"modified":"2022-12-20T18:08:36","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T17:08:36","slug":"zity-expands-milan","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/zity-expands-milan\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial and Renault expand Zity carsharing to Milan"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>Ferrovial, the sustainable infrastructure and mobility company, and <strong>Renault Group<\/strong>, a pioneer in Europe in the production of electric cars, have <strong>expanded their Zity electric carsharing service to Italy.<\/strong> Zity is now operational in <strong>four European cities<\/strong>: Madrid, Paris, Lyon and Milan.<\/p>\n<p>The carsharing service is scheduled to become operational in Milan in May using <strong>450 units of the Dacia Spring, a 100% electric<\/strong>, four-seater car with a compact, simple and robust design. Zity currently has more than <strong>560,000 registered users<\/strong> and a fleet of <strong>1,425 all-electric cars.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More than <strong>340,000 Milan residents<\/strong> report they are active users of shared mobility. The policies implemented by the Comune di Milano favor the emergence of intermodal transport proposals. In a recent <strong>Zity survey<\/strong> on shared mobility in Milan, <strong>79%<\/strong> of respondents expressed concern about the environment, and <strong>92%<\/strong> consider that they are up to date with the latest technology, fashion and trends. In addition, factors such as <strong>demographics and spending power<\/strong> make Milan the perfect city for Zity&#8217;s free floating carsharing model.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial and Renault&#8217;s electric carsharing service has also pioneered technological developments in the area of <strong>innovation and safety<\/strong>. In this regard, its fleet in Milan will be part of the <strong>Onboard Safety Program<\/strong>, in which onboard telematic devices monitor driving in real time and warn users about potentially poor driving practices. This program, which was implemented on a pilot basis in Madrid in 2020, has <strong>reduced the accident rate in the city&#8217;s Zity fleet by 36%.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial&#8217;s focus on shared mobility emphasizes its commitment to <strong>sustainability<\/strong>. Zity has <strong>avoided 1,988 tons of CO2 emissions<\/strong> into the atmosphere since its launch, and it uses only energy from <strong>renewable sources<\/strong> to recharge the fleet in all the cities where this is possible. In this connection, <strong>Ferrovial<\/strong> has purchased the right to build a <strong>photovoltaic plant in Seville<\/strong>, Spain, to supply power to its assets in Spain and Portugal in order to fulfil its <strong>2030 emission reduction target.<\/strong><\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
