{"id":108921,"date":"2022-10-24T12:08:27","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T10:08:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/?post_type=new&#038;p=108921"},"modified":"2024-10-24T15:30:59","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T13:30:59","slug":"ferrovial-lighting-pincanya-15-years","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-lighting-pincanya-15-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial awarded 15-year contract for comprehensive management of street lighting in Picanya (Valencia)"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>Ferrovial, through the <strong>Energy Solutions<\/strong> area of its Construction division, has been selected to <strong>take charge of end-to-end management of outdoor lighting in the municipality of Picanya, in Spain&#8217;s Valencia region.<\/strong> The <strong>15-year contract<\/strong> is worth \u20ac6.9 million.<\/p>\n<p>Under an energy services (ESCO) model, the company will <strong>upgrade 2,884 streetlights and fountain and ornamental lights<\/strong>, among others, using LED lamps. The contract scope also includes <strong>operating and maintaining streetlights, traffic lights, and fountain and bollard lights throughout the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A point-to-point management network will be installed for all public light fittings, which will contribute to energy savings and efficiency. Specifically, these initiatives will reduce electricity consumption <strong>by 50%, cutting CO2 emissions by 225 tons per year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ferrovial Energy Solutions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As part of <strong>Ferrovial&#8217;s firm commitment to sustainability<\/strong> and in line with its <strong>Horizon 24<\/strong> plan, which enshrines a commitment to creating businesses that are complementary to its core activity, <strong>the company has created an Energy Solutions area within its Construction division<\/strong>. The goal of this business unit is to execute turnkey projects for solar and wind power plants, and to strengthen Ferrovial&#8217;s core activities in the energy transmission and distribution and energy services fields. As part of process of divesting Ferrovial Services, the energy services area has been incorporated into the company&#8217;s Construction division, as part of the E<strong>nergy Solutions area, which also deals with offshore wind turbine platforms and hydrogen projects, among others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This new contract is in addition to recent contracts to upgrade public lighting in Motril (Granada), Haro (La Rioja), Alcazar de San Juan and Miguelturra (Ciudad Real), El Rosario (Tenerife) and X\u00e1tiva (Valencia), which represent over 25,000 light fittings under management.<strong> Ferrovial has 42 energy services projects under way,<\/strong> including street lighting in Madrid, municipal buildings in Vitoria, the Santiago de Compostela hospital complex, and the Txomin Enea district heating system in San Sebasti\u00e1n. <strong>It currently manages more than 300 GWh of energy overall.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
