Ferrovial has been recognized as one of the most sustainable companies<\/strong> in the construction and engineering sector by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). The index, produced by S&P Global, is the most prestigious in the world<\/strong> in the area of sustainability. This year, there are three companies in the industry in the worldwide ranking, and only two in the European index.<\/p>\n

The company’s position is attributable to its sound environmental, social and economic performance<\/strong>, on the basis of which it has been a component of the DJSI for the last 21 years. The company performed particularly well in terms of climate strategy, operational eco-efficiency and social reporting.<\/p>\n

Sound commitment to sustainability<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This recognition underscores the Company’s strategy in the environmental, social and economic areas. Ferrovial’s performance in this area has also been recognized by other sustainability indexes<\/strong> such as FTSE4Good (and its Spanish version, FTSE4Good IBEX), CDP, Vigeo, ISS ESG, Sustainalytics and GRESB<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sustainability continues to be one of the company’s core values. For this reason, Ferrovial presented its Sustainability Strategy 2030<\/strong>, which hinges on three axes \u2014 environment, community and governance \u2014 and is aligned with its business strategy, the Horizon 24 plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Its commitment goes beyond sustainability. This is evidenced by Ferrovial’s Corporate Governance certification by AENOR<\/strong><\/a>, making it the first infrastructure company to receive this distinction. The company also carries out social initiatives to ensure equal opportunities<\/strong> and it invests in the community through social programs that have improved the living standards of more than 558,000 people to date.<\/p>\n

Created in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes are the world’s leading benchmark<\/strong> of corporate responsibility. There are about 2,500 companies<\/strong> in the eligible universe for the world index, of which only 10% are selected for the Dow Jones World Sustainability Index after an exhaustive analysis by S&P Global.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n
