{"id":119470,"date":"2023-01-17T13:24:47","date_gmt":"2023-01-17T12:24:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/?post_type=new&#038;p=119470"},"modified":"2023-01-17T13:41:43","modified_gmt":"2023-01-17T12:41:43","slug":"yda-dalaman-airport-elevates-two-levels-carbon-accreditation-program","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/yda-dalaman-airport-elevates-two-levels-carbon-accreditation-program\/","title":{"rendered":"YDA Dalaman Airport Elevates Two Levels in Carbon Accreditation Program at Once"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>YDA Dalaman Airport skipped Level 1 in <strong>the Airport Carbon Accreditation program<\/strong>, the only institutionally approved global carbon management certification program for airports, and was directly awarded the Level 2 Carbon Emission Certificate.<\/p>\n<p>The Airport Carbon Accreditation program independently assesses and recognizes airports based on their efforts to manage and reduce CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions.<\/p>\n<p>YDA Dalaman Airport CEO Yi\u011fit La\u00e7in stated that in line with YDA Dalaman Airport&#8217;s vision statement and sustainability strategy, they participated in the program established by the ACI Europe, which aims to eliminate carbon emissions and contribute to the struggle against climate change.<\/p>\n<p>La\u00e7in emphasized that within the scope of the studies carried out, they were awarded a Level-2 (Reduction) certificate in the Airport Carbon Emission certification process provided by ACI Europe through improvements and investments as a terminal operator. Emphasizing that their efforts to manage and reduce CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions will continue to gain acceleration with the important works they have put forward in the fight against climate change, La\u00e7in underlined that they will continue to take new environment-friendly steps and strengthen their impact in the upcoming processes.<\/p>\n<p>Olivier Jankovec, Director General of ACI Europe, expressed his c<strong>ongratulations to YDA Dalaman Airport for joining the Airport Carbon Accreditation directly with Level 2 &#8216;Reduction&#8217;<\/strong>, which means that the airport has not only mapped its carbon footprint, but is actively working to reduce its CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions, thus engaging in advanced carbon management.<\/p>\n<p>Jankovec said \u201cWith the backdrop of ICAO having last year set the goal for Net Zero CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions for aviation globally, this also means Dalaman Airport is making tangible contribution to this ambitious and necessary goal.
