Ferrovial Airports<\/a><\/strong> participated this week in the XXXIII edition<\/strong> of ACI World General Assembly, the leading event in the aviation sector organized annually by Airports Council International (ACI)<\/a><\/strong>. The conference, which took place between June 26 and 28 at the Montjuic Conference Center in Barcelona, is dedicated to airport management and operation with global coverage.<\/p>\n

The company, which had already participated in previous editions, was one of the sponsors<\/strong> of this year’s event, which hosted over 700 airport representatives from all over the world. International managers, regulators and analysts provided industry projections and discussed the main challenges facing the industry in the wake of the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Ferrovial Airports’ Director of Asset Management, Miguel Rodera, took part in the panel “Investing in airports: the new paradigm”, which addressed the future needs of the sector and the attraction of capital. Decarbonization<\/strong>, new growth regions, the impact of inflation, and passenger experience were some of the most relevant trends mentioned in the discussion.<\/p>\n

“When assessing investment opportunities in new regions, we must broaden our view and analyze each case individually, finding the correct balance between the stability of the country, a transparent legal framework, and opportunities where we can maximize the operational improvements we bring, increasing the value and impact on the community,”<\/em> said Miguel Rodera.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The company has over 25 years<\/strong> of experience in the investment, development and operation of 36 airports globally, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Chile. In 2022, Ferrovial became the lead investor in the consortium for the New Terminal One (NTO)<\/strong><\/a> transformation project at John F. Kennedy International Airport. When completed in 2030, NTO will be the airport’s largest international terminal and a major gateway to and from New York.<\/p>\n

Ferrovial also owns four airports in the United Kingdom. With a 25% stake, it is the main shareholder and partner in Heathrow Airport and owns 50% of Glasgow, Aberdeen and Southampton airports. It is also the majority shareholder of Dalaman International Airport in Turkey.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
