Volunteers from<\/b>\u00a0Ferrovial<\/b>\u00a0travelled to 13 education centres<\/b>\u00a0in\u00a0Madrid, Barcelona, Tarragona, Sevilla, La Coru\u00f1a, Alicante, Almer\u00eda\u00a0and\u00a0Puertollano, where they\u00a0facilitated\u00a0hour-long workshops with students on\u00a0developing various skills such as\u00a0self-learning, decision-taking, motivation\u00a0and teamwork,\u00a0depending on student preferences, with a view to helping them analyse\u00a0possible future\u00a0career paths,\u00a0and what they need to do to achieve them. One of our Ferrovial volunteers said:<\/p>\n

“This is an effective way of motivating students into specific learning\u00a0areas, to get them thinking about their future employment prospects through technical degrees and how they can add value to society through their work.”<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda Teresa Pulido<\/a>, Ferrovial\u2019s Director of Corporate Strategy,\u00a0and\u00a0Mar\u00eda Luisa Iglesias,\u00a0a manager at\u00a0Ferrovial Services<\/a>,\u00a0gave presentations at the\u00a0Orienta-T\u00a0events held in Madrid\u00a0and\u00a0Sevilla,\u00a0respectively.\u00a0Using their own personal experience as\u00a0an example, they explained to\u00a0participating students the various professional options related to STEM degrees, with particular emphasis on the role of women in the sector,\u00a0highlighting the most sought-after skills and competencies in the labour market, such as flexibility and knowledge of new technologies.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
