This agreement will help strengthen SSEN’s existing network to expand in line with the load associated with several offshore renewable energy projects and submarine cable projects. Amey has also reached an agreement with Huawei to pilot-test a fiber-to-the-home project in the Midlands. Both firms are interested in a long-term partnership to support fiber connectivity for households across the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Presence in the energy industry <\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the energy field, the company recently announced a new construction contract to supply power to part of the HS2 high-speed rail project<\/a>, which will run until March 2019. Amey will be responsible for delivering the detailed design, installation and construction of two new temporary substations to power the tunnel equipment supporting construction of the Chiltern Tunnel South Portal.<\/p>\n

Recent contract intake<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Amey was recently chosen by Highways England to maintain roads in Area 10<\/a>, the network of highways connecting the cities of Manchester, Liverpool and environs in the North West of England. The 15-year contract is worth \u00a3325 million, equivalent to over \u20ac366 million.<\/p>\n
