The environmental services company maintains, preserves and recovers 12 historic gardens in five provinces. Cespa takes charge of the gardens of La Granja de San Ildefonso (in Segovia) and El Escorial, Campo del Moro, Aranjuez and El Pardo (in Madrid).<\/p>\n<p>It also maintains the gardens in the Las Huelgas Reales (Burgos), Santa Clara (Tordesillas, Valladolid) and Yuste (C\u00e1ceres) monasteries, as well as the following Royal Estates in Madrid: the La Encarnaci\u00f3n, Descalzas Reales and Santa Isabel monasteries, and the Pante\u00f3n de Hombres Ilustres.<\/p>\n<p>Cespa will applies the latest innovations in management and landscape gardening. They include implementing a computer system to track all activities, sustainable processing of waste, and efficient irrigation. It also performs physical and mechanical analyses of the trees to oversee their development. The contract includes planting 180,000 flowers per year and close to 1,000 large trees. Cespa also manages over 8,600 cubic meters of waste per year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cespa&#8217;s leading position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The contract awarded by Patrimonio Nacional emphasizes Cespa&#8217;s leading position in the design, construction and maintenance of green areas. The company is in charge of maintaining close to 25.8 million square meters of green areas in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Cespa has extensive experience in managing historic gardens. Early in 2009, it completed the restoration of the Gardens at the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso (Segovia) to return to them to what they looked like when they were laid out in the 18th century. The project, covering 12 hectares, was the largest restoration of a historic garden in Europe.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<ul>\n<li><a
