{"id":5020,"date":"2004-07-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2004-07-15T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/ferrovial-and-budimex-land-100-million-euro-contract-for-two-roads-in-poland\/"},"modified":"2022-12-21T11:58:03","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T10:58:03","slug":"ferrovial-and-budimex-land-100-million-euro-contract-for-two-roads-in-poland","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-and-budimex-land-100-million-euro-contract-for-two-roads-in-poland\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial and Budimex land 100 million euro contract for two roads in Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p><strong>The roads are part of the A-2 highway, one of Poland&#8221;s main arteries, which links Warsaw with Berlin, Minsk (Belarus) and Moscow<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nFerrovial and Budimex, its Polish construction subsidiary, have been awarded the contracts to build two stretches of road in Poland for a total of 102 million euros.<\/p>\n<p>The two road sections, which are contiguous, form part of the A-2 highway, Poland&#8221;s main east-west artery, which links Warsaw with Berlin, Minsk (Belarus) and Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>The 15.9 km-long Dabie-Wartkowice section, budgeted at 45 million euros, will have two lanes in each direction, 8 overpasses, 3 underpasses or viaducts, 2 rest areas and a range of environmental protection and integration measures. The construction period is 15 months.<\/p>\n<p>The 24 km-long Wartkowice-Emilia section, budgeted at 57 million euros, will include 21 overpasses and 8 underpasses or viaducts. It will also be completed in 15 months.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A backlog of over 450 million euros<br \/>\n<\/strong>Ferrovial has been operating in Poland since 2000, when it acquired control of Budimex, Poland&#8221;s largest construction group in terms of revenues and market capitalisation.<\/p>\n<p>Budimex has a backlog of over 450 million euros. Its principal projects include the S1 Bjelsko Biala Skoczow-Cleszyn highway, a hotel for Hilton International, and the expansion of the new terminal at Warsaw Airport (worth a total of 200 million dollars, in a joint venture with Ferrovial).<\/p>\n<p>Budimex is bidding with Cintra, Ferrovial&#8221;s toll road subsidiary, to operate the A4 toll road between Wroclaw and Katowice, in Poland.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
