{"id":5260,"date":"2012-03-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-14T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/new-waste-management-facility-opens-in-toledo\/"},"modified":"2024-11-04T18:46:57","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T17:46:57","slug":"new-waste-management-facility-opens-in-toledo","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/new-waste-management-facility-opens-in-toledo\/","title":{"rendered":"New waste management facility opens in Toledo"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/noticias\/New-waste-management-facility-opens-Ecoparque-Toledo.png\" alt=\"undefined\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mar\u00eda Dolores de Cospedal, President of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, inaugurated the new waste management park in Toledo.<\/p>\n<p>The facility was built by <a title=\"About Ferrovial Agroman\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business-lines\/construction\/about-ferrovial-agroman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ferrovial Agroman<\/a>, Ferrovial&#8217;s construction subsidiary, and will be managed for 20 years by Gesmat, in which Cespa\u00a0and Consorcio de Servicios Medioambientales de Toledo are the major shareholders. It has the capacity to treat up to 250,000 tonnes of waste per year from the 650,000 residents in Toledo province.<\/p>\n<p>In the building phase and throughout the management concession, Cespa, <a title=\"About Ferrovial Services\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business-lines\/ferrovial-services\/about-ferrovial-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ferrovial Services<\/a> enviromental service subsidiary,\u00a0is committed to reducing the plant&#8217;s environmental impact;during construction, it implemented an environmental monitoring programme. Additionally, the materials used and the air treatment systems ensure that air quality will be maintained.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the Castilla-La Mancha government&#8217;s Municipal Waste Management Plan, Cespa will makeoptimal use of the resources contained in the waste,giving priority to recovery, composting and recycling over elimination.<\/p>\n<p>Material recovery in the Toledo waste management park will avoid the emission of almost 50,000 tonnes of CO2, i.e. equivalent to the annual emissions of more than 20,000 cars.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
