{"id":5281,"date":"2013-06-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-06-14T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/promoting-sustainable-construction-at-heathrow-airport\/"},"modified":"2022-12-21T10:28:47","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T09:28:47","slug":"promoting-sustainable-construction-at-heathrow-airport","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/promoting-sustainable-construction-at-heathrow-airport\/","title":{"rendered":"Promoting sustainable construction at Heathrow Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p><a title=\"Heathrow Airport\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/projects\/heathrow-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Heathrow Airport<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has appointed the\u00a0<a title=\"Green Building Council (in new window)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ukgbc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">UK\u0092s Green Building Council (UK-GBC)<\/a>\u00a0to develop and deliver a training and education programme to the Heathrow Capital supply chain that focuses on achieving <strong>sustainable<\/strong> outcomes on its Capital projects.<\/p>\n<p>This project is supported by six Tier 1 contractors, featuring <strong><a title=\"About Ferrovial Agroman\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business-lines\/construction\/about-ferrovial-agroman\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ferrovial Agroman<\/a><\/strong> and other <strong>construction<\/strong> firms. This series will be specifically developed for Heathrow Airport, and will draw upon existing UK-GBC education programmes.<\/p>\n<p>The UK Green Building Council is campaigning for a sustainable built <strong>environment<\/strong>. As a charity and membership organisation, it facilitates dialogue between Industry and Government to promote greener approaches in the construction sector.<\/p>\n<p>The key objectives of the <a title=\"Heathrow Sustainable Construction Series (in new window)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ukgbc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Heathrow Sustainable Construction Series<\/a> are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support suppliers to deliver successful projects, and achieve sustainability outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>For Heathrow to be visible to the supply chain as recognising sustainability as a core requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To upskill Heathrow Airport Ltd\u0092s own project management team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To raise awareness within the supply chain of the Heathrow\u0092 Sustainability Requirements for Contractors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Courses will begin on June 13 and will include different sessions and meetings, eventually finishing in May
