Ferrovial, a global operator in infrastructure and cities, is the\u00a0leading transportation developer ranked by invested capital in 2013<\/b>, according to prestigious magazine\u00a0Public Works Financing (PWF)<\/a>. Ferrovial has ranked first since 2008.<\/p>\n

The company currently has dozens of operational infrastructures in various markets around the world, including Canada, the US and the UK. PWF reported that\u00a0Ferrovial’s total invested capital amounted to 73.5 billion dollars<\/b>\u00a0(more than 54.4 billion euro).<\/p>\n

PWF also highlighted the company’s principal infrastructure assets: the\u00a0ETR 407<\/a>\u00a0and its expansion project, in Canada; the\u00a0LBJ<\/a>,\u00a0North Tarrant Express<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0SH130 roads in Texas<\/a>; the\u00a0ITR in Indiana<\/a>; and the\u00a0Chicago Skyway in Illinois<\/a>. It also underlined Ferrovial’s contracts to manage roads and\u00a0street lighting in Birmingham\u00a0and Sheffield and the M-30 in Madrid, as well as the airports managed by\u00a0Heathrow Airport Holdings (formerly BAA)\u00a0<\/a>in the UK.<\/p>\n

According to PWF, these projects reflect the success of\u00a0Ferrovial’s business strategy, which focuses on internationalisation and diversification<\/b>. In the first nine months of 2013, 68% of the company’s 5.927 billion euro in revenues came from outside Spain. The total\u00a0Services and Construction backlog reached its highest ever level in that period: 24.413 billion euro<\/b>, of which 68% refers to international projects.<\/p>\n

PWF’s annual global ranking, which was first published in 1985, includes the most comprehensive data on infrastructure concessions and public-private partnerships, focusing on transport infrastructure: roads, airports, railways and ports, drinking water, waste collection and facility management (hospitals, schools, prisons and sports stadiums).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
