\u00a0The North Tarrant Express<\/a>\u00a0in Texas, which is operated by Cintra,\u00a0has been distinguished at the PRIDE Awards <\/a>in the “Media Relations” category, and at the ARTBA-TDF Globe Awards in the “Project Awards” category. The latter award is granted by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation.<\/p>\n

These awards have been presented at a ceremony in Washington on 10 June in recognition of NTE’s contribution to the local economy of Texas and to the living standards of drivers<\/strong> who use the infrastructure every day. They also highlight the project’s commitment to environmental protection.<\/p>\n

Work has already commenced to expand the NTE by building segment 3A<\/a>, an additional 10.5 kilometres at an estimated total cost of 1.38 billion dollars, following the signature of a design, build, finance and operation contract with a consortium headed by Cintra Infraestructuras.<\/p>\n

The project involves upgrading existing lanes<\/strong> and building two new managed lanes in each direction, which will be tolled electronically, meaning that drivers will not have to stop.<\/a><\/p>\n

Moreover, the North Tarrant Express toll road in Texas, was finalist in the category of “Best Road Project” at the Partnerships Awards 2014. The awards are presented each year to outstanding projects and companies in the infrastructure industry worldwide.<\/p>\n
