The sod\u00a0turning is a significant milestone and marks the\u00a0commencement of major construction on the 20km upgrade of\u00a0the Pacific Highway from Warrell Creek to Nambucca Heads.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_38798\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38798\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Sod-Turn-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-38798\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Sod-Turn-2-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Guillermo Ripado, jefe de proyecto; Manuel Gil, jefe de construcci\u00f3n; Chris Clark, representante de RMS; y Wes Stevenson, director general en funciones de la Autopista del Pac\u00edfico.\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-38798\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Guillermo Ripado, jefe de proyecto; Manuel Gil,<br \/>jefe de construcci\u00f3n; Chris Clark, representante<br \/>de RMS; y Wes Stevenson, director general<br \/>en funciones de la Autopista del Pac\u00edfico.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The project received approval of the Project CEMP, EPL and\u00a0EPBC in record time, which will help to ensure 2015 is a\u00a0productive and rewarding year. It\u2019s an $830 million design and\u00a0build contract awarded by Roads and Maritime Services (RMS)\u00a0to Pacifico, an Acciona Ferrovial Joint Venture.\u00a0The scope of work includes an upgrade the existing highway to a four lane divided carriageway between\u00a0the Allgomera deviation, south of Warrell Creek and Nambucca Heads, just south of the railway line.<br \/>\nThis project will include interchanges north and south of\u00a0Macksville and at Warrell Creek and new bridges over Warrell\u00a0Creek and the Nambucca River and will improve road safety.\u00a0Construction work will commence immediately with boundary\u00a0fencing, establishment of a site compound, utilities relocation\u00a0and installation of erosion and sediment control fencing in\u00a0preparation for clearing and grubbing works.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pacifico welcomed Wes Stevenson, Acting General Manager of the Pacific Highway, Luke Hartsuyker,\u00a0Federal member for Cowper and Assistant Minister for Employment, Melinda Pavey, Member of the\u00a0Legislative Council and Parliamentary Secretary for Regional and Rural Health and Michael Coulter,\u00a0General Manager of Nambucca Shire Council with the welcome to country conducted by Martin\u00a0Ballangarry.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
