The Welsh Government has selected the consortium made up of\u00a0Ferrovial Agroman<\/a> and the British firm Dawnus to build the Eastern Bay Link in Cardiff<\/strong>. The contract value amounts to \u00a327 million (equivalent to more than \u20ac36 million).<\/p>\n

The new road will pass through the docks of the Welsh capital joining Queen’s Gate Roundabout with Ocean Way Interchange<\/strong>. The preliminary design phase started in January this year, while the design and construction works are scheduled to begin in the summer of 2015. The project will take two years in total to be completed.<\/p>\n

Although the track itself is not excessively long, the nature of its construction presents a new challenge due to the special conditions of the terrain and railway crossings to go through the work, as well as the conditions of the actual shareholders.<\/p>\n

With this new contract, Ferrovial Agroman is already present in each of the countries making up the United Kingdom. In England, Ferrovial Agroman is one of the leading players in the development of Crossrail<\/a>; in Scotland, it is involved in the expansion and improvement of the M8, M73 and M74 motorways<\/a>; and in Northern Ireland, it is building a section of the A8 motorway<\/a> linking Belfast to Larne Harbour.<\/p>\n
