{"id":5692,"date":"2015-06-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/heathrow-airport-sets-another-record-in-passenger-numbers\/"},"modified":"2024-11-20T22:31:34","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T21:31:34","slug":"heathrow-airport-sets-another-record-in-passenger-numbers","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/heathrow-airport-sets-another-record-in-passenger-numbers\/","title":{"rendered":"Heathrow airport sets another record in passenger numbers"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p><em>London Heathrow airport logged another record in terms of passenger numbers in May: it handled over 6 million passengers, maintaining its position as the UK&#8217;s top airport in terms of traffic.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The airport management company, a subsidiary of Spanish company Ferrovial, announced that a total of 6.34 million passengers passed through Heathrow, 1.7% more than in May 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Agencia EFE reported that, in the twelve months through May 2015, a total of 73.75 million passengers passed through Heathrow, an increase of 1.1% with respect to the preceding 12-month period. John Holland-Kaye, CEO of Heathrow, told Agencia EFE that the increase in passenger numbers shows that &#8220;only by expanding Heathrow can the UK continue to be a hub of the global economy&#8221;. He added, &#8220;Heathrow&#8217;s expansion plan is the best possible investment for activating the economy.&#8221;<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
