{"id":5718,"date":"2015-07-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-07-15T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/ferrovial-attends-the-peru-in-future-encounter-organised-by-el-pais\/"},"modified":"2024-12-13T21:50:09","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T20:50:09","slug":"ferrovial-attends-the-peru-in-future-encounter-organised-by-el-pais","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-attends-the-peru-in-future-encounter-organised-by-el-pais\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial attends the \u201cPeru in Future\u201d encounter organised by El Pa\u00eds"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>On Thursday 9 July El Pa\u00eds hosted <a title=\"El Pa\u00eds Eventos - El Per\u00fa en Futuro\" href=\"http:\/\/elpais.com\/eventos\/peru.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#8220;Peru in Future&#8221;(El Per\u00fa en Futuro)<\/a>, a forum on the progress experienced by the country and the reforms driven by the government of Ollanta Humala related to the development of new infrastructures and services, fiscal flexibility and trade relations with the United States, Europe and East Asia, key investment sectors for a nation immersed in a process of transformation.<\/p>\n<p>The encounter was attended by the President of the Republic of Peru, Ollanta Humala, Pedro Cateriano, the Prime Minister, Blanca Magali Silva Velarde-Alvarez, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism and Manuela Carmena the Mayor of Madrid. Juan Luis Cebri\u00e1n, Executive Chairman of the Prisa Group and Jorge Familiar, World Bank Vice-president for Latin America and the Caribbean spoke on behalf of the organisers.<\/p>\n<p>According to El Pa\u00eds the Peruvian leader declared that \u201cthings are getting better\u201d thanks to \u201crefraining from using macroeconomic management for ideological purposes\u201d among other things. He commented that the Government has done a \u201cresponsible job\u201d of creating a secure, predictable business environment, although \u201cmuch remains to be done.\u201d \u201cThis Government\u201d, he claimed, \u201cfulfils what it signs\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Spain is one of the countries with most interests in a region where 386 Spanish companies operate, including major corporations such as Enagas, Ferrovial, Repsol and Telef\u00f3nica. In line with the importance of their involvement, some of the representatives of these companies addressed the meeting, among them Dante Blotte, Finance Director of Repsol. According to El Pa\u00eds he stated that \u201cThere is a market with a solid legal framework and stable economic growth\u201d, and added that an infrastructure gap of \u201cat least 100,000 million dollars\u201d exists nationwide. For that reason further collaboration between the State and private companies is necessary. Along these lines \u00cd\u00f1igo Meir\u00e1s, CEO of Ferrovial, argued that \u201cthere is increasing acceptance of public-private collaboration\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>One of the challenges faced by both companies and the State is in the creation of a pool of skilled labour and the elimination of inequalities. \u201cOur greatest commitment is to education&#8221;, said President Humala, &#8220;never before has the country invested so much in this field.&#8221;<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
