Ferrovial\" class=\"image-section__image\">\n                    <\/figure>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>On Thursday, November 22, in the N@ave Boeticher, the final session of the second edition of Build Up! took place, where this year\u2019s 5 finalist startups presented their solutions to a jury of experts. The challenge of this second edition was focused on finding <strong>solutions that drastically reduce the use of LAG (Liquid, Aerosols and Gases) bags in airports<\/strong>. That is, those bags that we have to put liquids in when we fly with carry-on bags. This challenge, proposed be the <em>Centre of Excellence for Sustainability <\/em>at Heathrow Airport, <strong>aims to reduce the environmental impact of these bags<\/strong> as the number of bags used every year is greater than the number of passengers taking off and\/or landing at Heathrow.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 854px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('video');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-57347-1\" width=\"854\" height=\"480\" poster=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/01\/build-up-other-photo.jpg\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/01\/Buildup-comprimido.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/01\/Buildup-comprimido.mp4\">https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/01\/Buildup-comprimido.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the 5 finalist startups, chosen from a total of 24 proposals that were received, presented for 10 minutes with their solutions responding to the challenge, \u201cHow can the impact of disposable plastic bags used to store liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAG) in carry-on luggage be reduced?\u201d to a jury composed of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matt Prescott, Director of the Centre for Sustainability of Heathrow Airport<\/li>\n<li>Tom Holyford, Security Programmes Mananer for Heathrow Airport<\/li>\n<li>Gonzalo Velasco, Portfolio Management Director for Ferrovial Airports<\/li>\n<li>Valent\u00edn Alfaya, Quality &amp; Environment Director for Ferrovial<\/li>\n<li>Jos\u00e9 Luis Mu\u00f1oz, Climate KIC Spain Director<\/li>\n<li>Rafael Fern\u00e1ndez, Innovation and Digital Strategy Director for Ferrovial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After deliberations, the jury decided that the winning startup was the Austrian startup Goodbag, which proposed a solution that <strong>aims to incentivize passengers to act more sustainably<\/strong> through the gamification of the user experience.
