The new toll plaza is part of an extension project which is being carried out by <a title=\"Ferrovial Agroman Chile\" href=\"http:\/\/www.steelferrovial.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Ferrovial Agroman Chile<\/a> to add a third lane between kilometres 51 and 58 of Route 5 South, on the Pan-American highway. Looking at new projects in Europe, this month Ferrovial has furthered its internationalisation strategy with the <a title=\"Ferrovial- Highways D4 and R7\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/highways-in-slovakia-internationalisation-strategy-d4-and-r7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">award of Highways D4 and R7 in Slovakia<\/a>. Whilst over in Portugal, <em>Ferrovial Servi\u00e7os <\/em>has been awarded the contract for the <a title=\"Ferrovial- Lipor 2 Landfill\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-services-contract-lipor-ii-landfill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">operation of the Lipor II controlled landfill<\/a> in the city of Maia. In addition to this, Ferrovial&#8217;s UK subsidiary <a title=\"Amey\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amey.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Amey<\/a> will join with <a title=\"Arup\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Arup<\/a> to deliver an <a title=\"Ferrovial- Smart Motorway Australia\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/amey-arup-smart-motorway-australia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">innovative Smart Motorway project in New South Wales<\/a>, which will be the first of this kind in the region<\/p>\n<h2>Awards and recognitions<\/h2>\n<p>This month Ferrovial has been featured in <a title=\"Thomson Reuters\" href=\"http:\/\/thomsonreuters.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Thomson Reuters<\/a> newly launched Diversity &amp; Inclusion (D&amp;I) Index, which lists the <a title=\"Ferrovial- top 50 most diverse and inclusive organisations in the world\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/the-worlds-top-50-most-diverse-and-inclusive-organizations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">world\u2019s top 50<\/a><a title=\"World Top 50 most diverse and inclusive organisations\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/the-worlds-top-50-most-diverse-and-inclusive-organizations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\"> most diverse and innovative organizations<\/a>. As well as this, <a title=\"Ferrovial- Board of Directors\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/company\/about-us\/ferrovial-boarddirectors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">\u00cd\u00f1igo Meir\u00e1s<\/a>, Chief Executive Officer of Ferrovial, has been included in the ranking of the <a title=\"Ferrovial- 100 Top CEOs in the world\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/inigo-meiras-top-100-ceos-in-the-world-harvard-business-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">100 Best-Performing CEOs in the World<\/a>, as published by the prestigious <a title=\"Harvard Business Review\" href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Harvard Business Review<\/a> magazine. Ferrovial will also be <a title=\"Ferrovial in Stoxx Global ESG Leaders Index\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-included-in-the-stoxx-global-esg-leaders-index\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">listed for a second year running in the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index<\/a>, a representation of leading companies in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria. It has been a great month for Ferrovial Airports too with <a title=\"Ferrovial-Glasgow Airport\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/projects\/glasgow-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Glasgow Airport<\/a> triumphing at the <a title=\"Glasgow Business Awards Win\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/treble-win-for-glasgow-airport-at-the-glasgow-business-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Glasgow Business Awards, with a treble win<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>In other news<\/h3>\n<p>This October the January-September financial results 2016 have taken place which has seen <a title=\"Ferrovial financial results Jan-Sep 2016\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/press_releases\/financial-results-net-profit-january-september-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Ferrovial raise its net profit to 279 million euros<\/a> in the first nine months of 2016, with the main assets continuing to perform well. In UK events, <a title=\"Sheffield Smart Lab\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sheffieldsmartlab.co.uk\/#home1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Sheffield Smart Lab<\/a> <a title=\"Ferrovial- Sheffield Smart Lab\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/innovative-ideas-showcase-sheffield-smart-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">held its Demo Day in Sheffield Hallam University<\/a> which was attended by 50 stakeholders from the British ecosystem of <strong>urban innovation<\/strong>. Another exciting development this month has been the <a title=\"Ferrovial App Launch\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/all-the-latest-ferrovial-news-on-the-ferrovial-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">official launch of the Ferrovial App<\/a> which you can <em>now download for mobile phones and devices from Google Play and the App Store.
