{"id":6252,"date":"2016-11-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/ferrovial-committed-to-the-elimination-of-violence-against-women\/"},"modified":"2022-12-21T09:48:46","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T08:48:46","slug":"ferrovial-committed-to-the-elimination-of-violence-against-women","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-committed-to-the-elimination-of-violence-against-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial committed to the Elimination of Violence against Women"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>Today, <strong><a title=\"End Violence Day- UN\" href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/events\/endviolenceday\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women,<\/a><\/strong> Ferrovial is carrying out several actions in support of commitments as per its agreement with the <strong>Ministry for Health, Social Services and Equality<\/strong> to promote awareness-raising on gender-based violence and make it easier for women victims of gender violence to find work.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Action Protocol in the event of violence against women<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As proof of Ferrovial\u2019s commitment to help end violence against women, and pursuant to <strong>Equality Plan II,<\/strong> an internal action protocol has been developed within the framework of the mentioned plan. This protocol provides guidelines for promoting the protection of female colleagues who may be suffering this type of violence.\u00a0Equality Plan II was launched in 2015 with the aim, amongst others, of upholding the principle of equal opportunities and equal treatment for men and women.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Awareness-raising activities<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As part of Ferrovial\u2019s commitment, an internal manifesto has been prepared specifying the company\u2019s rejection of violence against women. Moreover, more than 3,000 employees, in both head offices and some of our projects, have worn badges from the government campaign \u201c<em>Hay Salida\u201d \u00a0<\/em>(\u201cThere is a way out\u201d) driven by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.\u00a0 This also helps to raise awareness amongst the general public.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, <a title=\"Ferrovial Services\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business-lines\/ferrovial-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Ferrovial Services<\/a> has carried out several activities in some of the projects it manages in Madrid and Andaluc\u00eda, building on services provided at the level of the general public to make them more visible. More specifically, this year\u2019s activities have been supported by the <a title=\"Madrid City Council\" href=\"http:\/\/www.madrid.es\/portal\/site\/munimadrid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">municipality of Madrid<\/a> (within the integral street cleaning and green area conservation contract, Lot 1, as well as the citizen\u2019s advice service <em>L\u00ednea Madrid<\/em>); San Sebasti\u00e1n de los Reyes and Alcobendas (both within the public street cleaning and urban waste collection services); and the<a title=\"Community of Andalucia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.juntadeandalucia.es\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\"> Community of Andaluc\u00eda <\/a>(cleaning services in <a title=\"Seville\u00b4s Virgen del Roc\u00edo Hospital\" href=\"http:\/\/reipi.org\/university-hospital-virgen-del-rocio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Seville\u2019s Virgen del Roc\u00edo University Hospital).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ferrovial\u2019s commitment <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In 2013, Ferrovial joined the Ministry for Health, Social Services and Equality\u2019s \u201cCompanies for a society free from violence against women\u201d to raise awareness amongst the general public on issues of equality between men and women and respect for basic rights, with the aim of bringing about \u00a0a society which is free from violence against women. Ferrovial\u2019s commitment covers awareness-raising activities within the framework of this initiative; and activities to make it easier for women victims of gender violence to find work, the latter in cooperation particularly with <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Integra.<\/strong> The best guarantee for breaking the circle of violence in which women and their children are immersed is the chance for women victims to get a job and become active members of society once again.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Resources provided by the Ministry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Ministry for Health, Social Services and Equality has resources available for anyone wishing further information.
