Ferrovial ranks in the top 10 Spanish companies<\/strong> in terms of contribution to the county\u2019s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).\u00a0<\/strong>This data has been obtained from the ranking prepared by Jorge D\u00edaz-Cardiel Torres\u00a0<\/a>– Managing Director of Advice Strategic Consultants, and economic and business consultant – who has elaborated in his book Las empresas y los empresarios m\u00e1s exitosos de Espa\u00f1a<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>(The most successful companies and entrepreneurs in Spain.) Among the ten positions in the list are: Santander<\/a>, BBVA,<\/a> Gas Natural Fenosa,<\/a> Inditex, <\/a>Mercadona<\/a>, Endesa<\/a> and Telef\u00f3nica, <\/a>which has been distinguished as the company with the greatest impact on GDP.<\/p>\n

Both the international Monetary Fund and the Government predict a slowdown in economic growth for the period 2017 to 2021. D\u00edaz-Cardiel nevertheless provides advice in his book for delivering both a successful economy and a successful business performance during this period.<\/p>\n

D\u00edaz-Cardiel also highlights the role played by of large companies in recent years, and their importance for the county\u2019s economy:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason why these companies have boosted the economy is that they have always been successful<\/strong>, in good times and in bad\u201d, <\/em>says D\u00edaz-Cardiel.<\/p>\n

Moreover, what is measured in the ranking is not only the direct impact of businesses such as Ferrovial on the economy, but also their indirect effects<\/strong>, since a large percentage of SMEs and entrepreneurs have a high dependence on these companies.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
