{"id":6562,"date":"2017-05-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/innovative-solutions-for-roads-affected-by-climate-change\/"},"modified":"2022-12-21T09:34:01","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T08:34:01","slug":"innovative-solutions-for-roads-affected-by-climate-change","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/innovative-solutions-for-roads-affected-by-climate-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovative solutions for roads affected by climate change"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>Infra- Adapt is a BIM project fostered by <a title=\"Ferrovial Innovation Construction Projects\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en-us\/innovation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Ferrovial Agroman&#8217;s R&amp;D Department<\/a> which seeks to develop innovative solutions for <strong>highway and road infrastructures <\/strong>to adapt to meteorological adversities consequence of climate change\u00a0impact (rain, flooding, droughts, oil erosion\u2026).<\/p>\n<p>In order to do so, a <a title=\"BIM implementation at Ferrovial - Ferrovial\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/connecting-all-the-information-from-the-construction-site-via-a-bim-based-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\"><strong>BIM model<\/strong> <\/a>is globally and effectively applied <strong>to manage information throughout the different phases of the construction lifecycle<\/strong>. Through massive data capturing and the development of algorithms, Infra-Adapt aims at automatically transforming data into standard formats, such as IFC,\u00a0 to, then, <strong>generate and manage risk predictions<\/strong> (vulnerability, early alerts) based on the collected data.<\/p>\n<p>The main benefits expected from this Project are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>BIM technology<\/strong> (digitalization, risk management strategies) <strong>to ease decision making<\/strong>, which can be applied throughout the whole infrastructure cycle (planning, design, construction, operation.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reduction of operation costs<\/strong>: effective maintenance, adaptable to changes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Resource optimization<\/strong> in inventory, maintenance and emergencies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Intelligent, sustainable and integrated transport system<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Reduce potential business interruptions<\/strong> due to severe weather events, thus reducing social damage and also economic loss.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This BIM\u00a0project<strong> belongs in 2016&#8217;s <a title=\"CDTI\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdti.es\/index.asp?MP=7&amp;MS=577&amp;MN=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">FEDER-Innterconecta<\/a><\/strong> and is cofounded by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology and the European Union through the Structural Funds for Regional Development for innovative projects within the European regions. Ferrovial Agroman will count on the collaboration of <strong><a title=\"Tecnalia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tecnalia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Tecnalia<\/a>, <\/strong>Spain&#8217;s first center dedicated to the development of the economic and social environment and one of the most innovative in Europe, and <a title=\"UVIGO\" href=\"https:\/\/uvigo.gal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\"><strong>University of Vigo (Spain), <\/strong><\/a>technological entity focused on applied Engineering and Architecture and specialized in laser scan, both mobile and static, drones, thermography and georradar.
