The non-profit organization, SOS Children’s Villages<\/a> (in Spain Aldeas Inafntiles SOS), together with the support of Ferrovial, celebrated the opening of its first day centre<\/strong> in Malaga, Spain, on 15 May. Its goal is to support and strengthen families at risk in order to improve their living conditions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The day centre will provide support and guidance to parents so that they can adequately care for their children and give them the necessary tools to encourage their personal development<\/strong> and promote their performance in school<\/strong>. The action of this mission is prevention of minors from family, social and school settings.<\/p>\n

According to the NGO in its official communiqu\u00e9, “This space is located on premises granted by the City of Malaga<\/a>, whose construction and conditioning has been possible thanks to the collaboration of companies such as Ferrovial<\/a>, P&G<\/a>, Laude San Pedro Internacional College<\/a>, Keysight Technologies<\/a>, Fundaci\u00f3n \u201cLa Caixa\u201d<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Asociaci\u00f3n de Hosteleros de M\u00e1laga<\/a>, who actively support the organization. ”<\/p>\n

About Ferrovial’s Stronger Together program<\/strong><\/p>\n

This project is one of three social actions supported through the Stronger Together social action<\/a>, framed in the company’s Social Responsibility<\/a>\u00a0strategy. \u00a0This initiative was selected by employees in the 2016 edition, – allocating it 40,606.34 Euros. In addition, 106,282.34 Euros were collected. With this significant budget, two other initiatives have been financed, one from Manos Unidas<\/a> and one from NGO Fontilles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The company has had this social program since 2005 as a sign of Ferrovial and its employees’ shared commitment to improving the living conditions of groups at risk of social vulnerability. Through it, international cooperation projects are implemented for development, conservation of natural capital, biodiversity and social action in Spain. SOS Children’s Villages<\/a>, recently awarded the Princess of Asturias Award of Concord 2016, is an international, private, child-friendly, non-profit, interfaith and politically independent
