On 4th May 2017,\u00a0 an 18km\u2013long stretch of the\u00a0S5 expressway <\/a>between the “Mieleszyn” and the “Gniezno Po\u0142udnie” junctions was opened, two months ahead of schedule.<\/strong> This newly constructed polish highway\u00a0will be able to transfer the transit traffic from Gniezno and will ultimately ensure a smooth link<\/strong> between the A1 Gdansk-Katowice motorway<\/strong> and A2 Pozna\u0144-Warszawa motorway.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Among those in attendance at the Polish highway opening was the vice Minister of Infrastructure and Voivode of Great Poland (Wielkopolska).<\/p>\n

The construction works have been carried out by the consortium of Budimex<\/a> and Ferrovial Agroman <\/a>for PLN 500million,<\/strong> of which 85% was covered by the European Union <\/a>subsidy. Under the contract, Budimex has constructed three road junctions, Mieleszyn junction, Gniezno junction, K\u0142ecko junction), 19 engineering facilities, 2 passenger service centres<\/strong>, transverse<\/strong> and access roads which have road lighting, barriers, drainage <\/strong>and drainage equipment.<\/strong> Furthermore, Budimex has completely changed and removed collisions of water and sewerage equipment, melioration equipment, power equipment, telecommunication, gas and railway equipment of multiple designs (overhead contact and power lines, telecommunications, tracks and others).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
