The sand mining process, which will be managed by the division of\u00a0Webber, LLC,\u00a0<\/a>Southern Crushed Concrete, will produce TxDOT grade concrete sand and find sand for over 10 years.<\/em><\/p>\n

Southern Crushed Concrete<\/a> (SCC) has opened a new sand mine<\/strong> in Liberty County, situated east of the Trinity River. The operation process will include dredging<\/strong> and manufacturing<\/strong> of concrete sand materials onsite, with the objective of selling 500,000 tons per year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having been prepared by the crews, the customised dredge<\/strong> arrived to the site in April and was ready to start gathering sand by May.<\/p>\n

The Liberty County Mine is the company\u2019s 3rd sand mining operation<\/strong> in the Houston district in the last 14 years and facilitates its recycled concrete and asphalt projects located in Houston and Corpus Christi.<\/p>\n

“This is a big investment in the sand mining business and will allow SCC to be in the sand manufacturing business in the foreseeable future,” said Jim Miller, Managing Director of SCC. “Borings on the property showed sand depths of 45-70 feet across the 130-acre lot with the possibility of mining an additional 500 acres in the future.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

About Southern Crushed Concrete sand mining<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Southern Crushed Concrete (SCC), a division of Webber, LLC<\/a>, was established in 1991 and uses practical and inexpensive methods<\/strong> to create recycled concrete and asphalt for a variety of construction projects across Southeast Texas. The recycling operations replace the need for rock, which must be transported into the Houston area from distant quarries. SCC holds a safety rating of 0.74<\/strong>, and regularly takes part in many LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design<\/a>) projects.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
