Ferrovial received a mention in the last edition of the Agust\u00edn de Betancourt Public Works International Award <\/strong>as a recognition for the Carrera 80 <\/strong>project. <\/a>This construction, located in Cuenca de la Quebrada de la Iguan\u00e1 (Colombia), has been carried out by Ferrovial Agroman (60%) and Constructora Colpatria<\/a>. The award was collected by \u00c1ngel Luis S\u00e1nchez Gil, Director of Construction at Ferrovial Agroman.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Carrera 80 was inaugurated in 2015 and is part of a series of transportation projects that connect Medell\u00edn with the Atlantic coast, and which have focused on the transformation of the Cuenca de la Quebrada del Iguan\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Works<\/a> started in 2013 and consisted in carrying out a double road which expands from the Carrera 80 interchange. It starts at the city of Medell\u00edn towards the West, reducing the time needed to travel between the main cities of the area (Departamento de Antioqu\u00eda<\/a>). Thanks to the improvement in road communications, this work also serves as a transformation tool<\/strong> for the whole city sector located in the Cuenca Quebrada de la Iguan\u00e1, a marginal zone characterized by exclusion and social inequity, at the same time that it reduces the emission of vehicular toxic gasses from previous traffic jams.<\/p>\n
