The President of Ferrovial, Rafael Del Pino<\/strong>, has participated in the laying ceremony of the first stone of the I-66 highway<\/a> in the state of Virginia, USA. This project has a total planned investment of 3.550 million dollars<\/strong>, an extension of 35 kilometers<\/strong> and a concession period of 50 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is the fifth managed lanes project developed by Cintra<\/a> in the United States. The construction, in which Ferrovial Agroman<\/a> participates, will end in 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the act, along with the president of Ferrovial, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe<\/strong>, as well as several members of the State Department of Public Transport and Rail, and federal, state and local partners have participated.<\/p>\n

McAuliffe, Governor of the State of Virginia, said that:<\/p>\n

“The project that begins will stimulate economic growth and improve the quality of life for travelers throughout the region of northern Virginia.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He also pointed out that it will create hundreds of jobs<\/strong> for state residents, with the goal of 75%<\/strong> of new project employees being local and veterans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project will reduce traffic congestion<\/strong>, offer safer travel<\/strong> options, new passenger parking<\/strong> lots and bus services<\/strong>, and greater connectivity to major destinations along I-66.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
