The City Council of Azuqueca de Henares<\/a> (Guadalajara) together with the Centre for Innovation In Smart Infrastructures<\/a>, recently hosted its own Climathon, a 24-hour hackathon<\/strong> (divided into two days) held simultaneously in more than a hundred cities around the world.<\/p>\n

It is an event organized by the Climate-KIC organization<\/a>, an initiative of the EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) <\/a>on climate change<\/strong>, of which Ferrovial is a partner. The main objective of Climathon is to solve a challenge chosen by each locality thanks to the participation of entrepreneurs<\/strong>, students<\/strong>, and\u00a0workers<\/strong> in the innovation sector who are either citizens or know the locality. To do this, the participants expose and exchange their opinions to promote ideas against climate change that can become tangible solutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the days a series of activities were carried out, including ideas sessions led by Ci3, excursion to the Azuqueca Ornithological Reserve<\/strong> and proof of the use of electric bicycles<\/strong> in the bike lanes of the town.<\/p>\n

This event had a high degree of involvement on the part of the citizens and the City Council, since it counted with the contribution of different companies in the sector, local environmental technicians and citizens who contributed different visions to both the problem and the the resolution of the challenge.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, it should be noted that the main measures to be carried out focused on the ‘Information’ field. Some of the actions proposed to the City Council were the following:<\/p>\n
