Three awards &#8211; including the AERCE Diamante, <strong>the association&#8217;s highest award<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; were presented during the award ceremony, held at the <a title=\"Meli\u00e1 Castilla Hotel\" href=\"https:\/\/www.melia.com\/en\/hotels\/spain\/madrid\/melia-castilla\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Meli\u00e1 Castilla Hotel<\/a> (Madrid) on 19 November.<\/p>\n<p>The main factors on which the awards were based are the <strong>scale<\/strong>, <strong>importance<\/strong> and <strong>clarity<\/strong> of the benefits provided by the candidate initiatives. The awards recognise the efforts of the people in the <strong>purchasing area<\/strong> with the aim of generating visibility and <strong>highlighting best practices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>AERCE Diamante award for Corporate Social Responsibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A number of initiatives were presented, accrediting the commitment to <a title=\"Ferrovial Corporate Social Responsibility\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/our-commitment\/corporate-responsibility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Corporate Social Responsibility<\/a> and emphasising efficient and responsible supply chain management. They included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Widespread use of new clauses establishing the applicability of the <a title=\"Ferrovial Code of Business Ethics\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/our-commitment\/corporate-responsibility\/ethics-code\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Code of Business Ethics<\/a> and the Anticorruption Policy in orders and contracts with suppliers.<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of a new form for supplier certification and assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Green Purchasing catalogue.<\/li>\n<li>Agreements with special employment centres to implement the commitment in this area and comply with Spain&#8217;s General Law on Persons with Disabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Runner-up award for the transformation of the Purchasing function<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This category recognises a success story in <strong>tool integration<\/strong>, <strong>team coordination<\/strong> and <strong>unification of internal processes<\/strong>. The candidate initiatives were developed between 2013 and 2017 in order to fully integrate the procurement and fleet departments of <a title=\"CESPA\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/es\/noticias\/cespa-limpia-y-trata-los-residuos-de-800-municipios-en-espana-y-portugal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">CESPA <\/a>and FERROSER.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Special mention for Training<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Higher Training Programme<\/strong> in Purchasing and Procurement, implemented with the <a title=\"fERROVIAL hUMAN rESOURCES\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/category\/human-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Human Resources<\/a> training team, received a special mention. The programme focuses on increasing the <strong>knowledge<\/strong> and <strong>skills<\/strong> of the department&#8217;s professionals. The programme, which is taught by <a title=\"ESIC\" href=\"https:\/\/www.esic.edu\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">ESIC <\/a>business school, has a duration of 136 hours distributed in 9 modules between January 2017 and December 2018.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
