Heathrow<\/a> has been named the best airport in the world for security management<\/strong> by the publication International Airport Review<\/a>, whose first edition of its awards, which will annually recognize excellence in the airport industry, was held in 2017.<\/p>\n

Tom Willis, Heathrow Security Director said:<\/p>\n

“We are honoured to receive this award on behalf of our security colleagues who work incredibly hard to keep a record number of travellers safe and deliver outstanding customer service. Heathrow\u2019s status as a world-class airport<\/strong> is down to the quality and the expertise of our colleagues and it\u2019s great to see the team\u2019s efforts to make this one of the best airports in the world recognised. We couldn\u2019t be more proud of the progress made so far, and look forward to doing even more to improve the experience of our passengers and stakeholders in the years ahead.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While announcing Heathrow airport as the winner, the judging panel commented that:<\/p>\n

“Heathrow Airport has achieved an effective blend of human factors and technology solutions to optimise passenger throughput and enhance the safety and security of passengers.”\u200b<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The award is just one of the milestones achieved by Heathrow security this year – including T2 becoming Europe’s best performing terminal for the courtesy of its security team – helping Ferrovial deliver its vision of giving passengers the best airport service in the world<\/strong>.\u200b<\/p>\n

The International Airport Awards received more than 130 applications<\/strong> for the nine existing categories, which were submitted to the more than 77,000 votes<\/strong> received by the organization from the global airport community. Of these 130, only 27 were pre-selected<\/strong> for three categories – those that were analyzed by the members of the jury, in whose hands was the final decision.<\/p>\n
