In an attempt to raise awareness on the threat of <strong>climate change<\/strong>, the campaign encourages citizens all over to demonstrate their support for action by <strong>turning off their non-essential lighting<\/strong> for one hour, between <strong>8:30pm to 9:30pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Starting as a symbolic lights out event in Sydney in 2007, <strong>Earth Hour<\/strong> is now the <strong>world&#8217;s largest grassroots movement for the environment<\/strong>, inspiring millions of people to take action for our planet and nature.\u200b Now, it is not just citizens in their homes who partake in the \u200bcampaign, but also major landmarks and businesses.\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n<h2><strong> Join the Earth Hour initiative<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You can also participate in this initiative by switching off the lights, computers, TV sets and all your electronic devices for one hour this Saturday. Our actions today can change our tomorrow, so join the millions of others and unite once again to <strong>#ChangeClimateChange! \u200b\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.earthhour.org\/\">Join the movement here!\u200b<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ferrovial&#8217;s commitment to the environment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The strategy and climate governance is integrated into Ferrovial&#8217;s business strategy. By <strong>2020<\/strong>, it has been proposed to reduce<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/our-commitment\/environment\/climate-change\/carbon-reduction-objectives\/ghg-emissions-scope-1-2\/\"> Scope 1 &amp; 2 emissions<\/a> in terms of intensity (tCO2eq \/ million euro of turnover) by <strong>35.4%<\/strong> compared to the baseline year, <strong>2009<\/strong>. By <strong>2030<\/strong>, the target approved and endorsed by SBTi is to reduce Scope 1 &amp; 2 emissions in absolute terms by <strong>32%<\/strong> and in terms of intensity by <strong>42.9%<\/strong>. The reduction target for <strong>2017<\/strong> in terms of intensity with respect to the baseline year is <strong>25.75%<\/strong>.\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n<p>For more information see the <a
