{"id":7292,"date":"2018-04-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-10T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/heathrows-t2-voted-best-terminal-in-the-world\/"},"modified":"2024-11-20T22:16:35","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T21:16:35","slug":"heathrows-t2-voted-best-terminal-in-the-world","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/heathrows-t2-voted-best-terminal-in-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Heathrow&#8217;s T2 voted best terminal in the world"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p><a title=\"About Heathrow Airport - Ferrovial\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/projects\/heathrow-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">London Heathrow<\/a> Terminal 2, &#8216;The Queen\u2019s Terminal&#8217;, has been awarded for the first time as the\u00a0<em>Best Terminal in the World<\/em> at the 2018 <strong>World Sky Awards<\/strong> by <a title=\"Skytrax\" href=\"https:\/\/skytraxratings.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Skytrax<\/a>, which were awarded on March 21st in Stockholm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Passengers gave their recognition<\/strong> to the Queen&#8217;s Terminal through their votes, which have also distinguished <strong>Heathrow&#8217;s Terminal 5<\/strong> as the fourth best terminal in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The awards recognized Heathrow, which maintains its position in the Skytrax ranking as one of the <a title=\"World Airport Awards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.worldairportawards.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">ten best airports in the world<\/a>, an improvement on its position from the previous year, as <em>Best Western European Airport<\/em>\u00a0for the fourth year running, and also as <a title=\"Things to Know Before Traveling from Heathrow - Ferrovial Blog\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.ferrovial.com\/en\/2018\/02\/things-to-know-before-travelling-from-heathrow-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\"><em>Best Airport of the World to Go Shopping<\/em><\/a> for the ninth time.<\/p>\n<p>Heathrow Chief Commercial Officer Ross Baker said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTo have two of our terminals be voted amongst the world\u2019s top five is testament to the successful work our team has done to transform Heathrow for the better. We are tremendously pleased passengers are not only voting for us through these awards \u2013 but also with their feet \u2013\u00a0 as we saw with <a title=\"Ferrovials UK Airports See Increase in Passenger Numbers\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovials-uk-airports-see-increased-passenger-numbers-to-conclude-a-positive-2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">this year\u2019s record breaking numbers<\/a>. Going forward, we will continue to invest in Heathrow to give passengers an enjoyable, reliable and affordable journey every time they travel through the airport.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It should be noted that the terminal was built by <a title=\"About Construction - Ferrovial\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business-lines\/construction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Ferrovial Agroman<\/a> and designed by a team of architects led by the Spaniard Luis Vidal. It was inaugurated on June 23rd, 2014, with the presence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
