The Minister of Development, I\u00f1igo de la Serna<\/strong>, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure,\u00a0Julio G\u00f3mez-Pomar<\/strong>;\u00a0President of\u00a0the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures –ADIF<\/a>, Juan Bravo Rivera<\/strong>; General Director of\u00a0Operations\u00a0and Construction\u00a0at\u00a0ADIF, Isabel Pardo de Vera<\/strong>;\u00a0and the Deputy Mayor of Barcelona,\u00a0Janet Sanz<\/strong>;\u00a0all visited the La Sagrera Station<\/strong>\u00a0access works\u00a0on\u00a0April 12th\u00a0in order to supervise\u00a0the resumption\u00a0of the\u00a0project\u00a0being carried out by\u00a0Ferrovial Agroman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Representing Ferrovial Agroman during the visit were Juan Lozano,\u00a0Director of Civil Works; Fernando M\u00aa L\u00f3pez Bueno, Director of Railways and Transportation; Miguel Angel Valencia, Manager;\u00a0and Pablo Ayala, Manager of\u00a0the\u00a0UTE\u00a0(temporary consortium).<\/p>\n

The project\u00a0plans\u00a0to build\u00a0accessways\u00a0to the future\u00a0La Sagrera Station in the city of Barcelona<\/strong>,\u00a0and includes\u00a0platform\u00a0works\u00a0that\u00a0will be\u00a0necessary\u00a0for the installation\u00a0of\u00a0wide rails\u00a0International Union of Railways\u00a0(UIC) as well as the necessary infrastructure for conventional gauge tracks of the Vilanova-Matar\u00f3 and Vilafranca-Ma\u00e7anet lines belonging to the Rodalies de Catalu\u00f1a<\/a> network.<\/p>\n

At the same time,\u00a0a\u00a0logistics\u00a0area<\/strong> will be built for the maintenance of high-speed trains<\/strong>, equipped with 5 platforms of variable length<\/strong>,\u00a0along with the infrastructure\u00a0necessary to house a bus parking<\/strong> area.<\/p>\n

Once the railway corridor has been reorganized,\u00a0an urban development project will be undertaken\u00a0with regard to\u00a0the area affected by the works in such a way that both\u00a0sides\u00a0of the city of Barcelona that are currently separated by the corridor\u00a0will be\u00a0connected.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese\u00a0construction\u00a0works are of great importance for the city of Barcelona\u00a0\u200b\u200bespecially for the districts of Sant Mart\u00ed and Sant Andreu. Currently, the railway corridors represent a\u00a0huge\u00a0scar that divides the neighbourhoods of Sant Mart\u00ed and La Sagrera.\u00a0In addition, the new station will increase the limited\u00a0capacity of the current Sants Station\u201d\u00a0according\u00a0to\u00a0Pablo Ayala.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
