{"id":7399,"date":"2018-05-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/news\/ferrovial-agroman-has-completed-renovation-works-on-badajozs-mother-child-hospital\/"},"modified":"2022-12-21T09:15:34","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T08:15:34","slug":"ferrovial-agroman-has-completed-renovation-works-on-badajozs-mother-child-hospital","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-agroman-has-completed-renovation-works-on-badajozs-mother-child-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial Agroman has completed renovation works on Badajoz\u2019s Mother &amp; Child Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business-lines\/construction\/\">Ferrovial Agroman<\/a>\u00a0has completed renovation works at <strong>Badajoz\u2019s Mother &amp; Child Hospital<\/strong>, the contract for which was awarded by the Extremadura Health Service\u00a0General Secretariat in\u00a02016.\u00a0The works\u00a0carried out have\u00a0improved the east wing of the\u00a0hospital\u2019s\u00a0fifth floor, turning it into the new Paediatric Onco-Haematology In-patient Unit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The building has nine storeys and a\u00a0total area\u00a0of 17,866 m2<\/strong>. Following a number of reforms in the different wards and other areas\u00a0over\u00a0recent years, the\u00a0hospital currently has 217 beds, including cots and incubators. This\u00a0reform is part of a series of integral changes being carried out gradually and progressively, <strong>without\u00a0causing\u00a0interruptions to the care\u00a0services<\/strong> provided by the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital building has been operating as such\u00a0since 1975,\u00a0and this has meant it was necessary to address\u00a0a series of problem areas,\u00a0such as the presence of\u00a0iron fittings and the prevention of legionella,\u00a0temperature control\u00a0and noise, amongst others. Moreover, a whole host of unique precautionary measures have been taken, particularly for people (patients, family members or hospital staff), as well as\u00a0for\u00a0the location of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) which is\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0renovated fifth floor of the hospital, a situation which\u00a0has complicated the\u00a0removal of drains from upper floors\u00a0and\u00a0required strict biosecurity measures\u00a0and control.<\/p>\n<p>Once the elements common to both\u00a0areas had been removed,\u00a0renovation works were carried out, and\u00a0<strong>currently\u00a0the floor\u00a0has two consulting areas, a day hospital,\u00a0a\u00a0games room, seven in-patient\u00a0wards and four isolated rooms for\u00a0patients with a weakened immune system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The d\u00e9cor\u00a0combines\u00a0a colour scheme\u00a0suited to\u00a0the\u00a0patients who will be\u00a0using the facilities, with an emphasis on vibrant tones and the\u00a0provision of decorative murals.<\/p>\n<p>The new distribution, developed with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/connecting-all-the-information-from-the-construction-site-via-a-bim-based-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BIM<\/a> tools, provides improved accessibility and\u00a0energy efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>The works team, led by\u00a0<strong>Juan Luis Junguito<\/strong>,\u00a0Building\u00a0Director\u00a0for\u00a0Madrid\u00a0and\u00a0Castilla-La Mancha,\u00a0Extremadura\u00a0and\u00a0CPDs,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Francisco Javier Garc\u00eda<\/strong>,\u00a0Deputy\u00a0Building\u00a0Director for Madrid\u00a0II\u00a0and Building and Civil Works for\u00a0Extremadura,\u00a0was comprised by\u00a0<strong>Jos\u00e9 Carlos D\u00edaz<\/strong>,\u00a0Head of Works Team,<strong>\u00a0F\u00e9lix Garc\u00eda<\/strong>,\u00a0Site Manager,\u00a0<strong>Antonio Rueda<\/strong>,\u00a0Site Administration,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Su\u00e1rez<\/strong>,\u00a0Safety and Quality Officer.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"featured_media":7296,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","nivel-2":[1087,1117,1137,1149,1169],"nivel-5":[2148],"nivel-1":[896],"nivel-3":[1321],"nivel-4":[1800],"class_list":["post-7399","new","type-new","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","nivel-2-bim-en","nivel-2-building","nivel-2-facilities","nivel-2-infrastructures","nivel-2-works","nivel-5-ferrovial-construction","nivel-1-construction","nivel-3-spain","nivel-4-extremadura-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<title>Ferrovial Agroman has completed renovation works on Badajoz\u2019s Mother &amp;
