Amey<\/a>, Ferrovial Services’ UK subsidiary, has been awarded two\u00a0public\u00a0lighting contracts<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0the towns of Edinburgh\u00a0and Inverclyde, in Scotland.\u00a0In the first of these the company will install LED street lights while in the second the contract is for maintenance of\u00a0existing\u00a0street lighting and luminous traffic signals.<\/p>\n

The British affiliate will\u00a0bring the\u00a0Edinburgh\u00a0street lighting system up to date by introducing the latest in LED technology. Completion of the contract will entail the replacement of 54,000 street lamps<\/strong> over a period of three years and will signify savings in energy costs of some \u20ac55 million for the local council over\u00a0the\u00a0next\u00a0two decades.\u00a0The street lighting system renewal will help the city reducing CO2 emissions<\/a>, in compliance with SEEP (Scotland\u2019s Energy Efficiency Programme).<\/p>\n

In addition to installing the most up-to-date\u00a0LED\u00a0technology, the new contract includes\u00a0a\u00a0dynamic\u00a0street lighting\u00a0control system that will allow for centralised, more efficient\u00a0management.<\/p>\n

Maintenance of street lamps and signage in Inverclyde<\/b><\/h2>\n

Amey will carry out\u00a0maintenance on more\u00a0than 13,000 street lamps, 1000 luminous traffic signals and 600 auxiliary electrical elements\u00a0stationed throughout the streets of Inverclyde, in Scotland. The contract illustrates the renewed confidence that the municipal corporation has\u00a0placed in the British affiliate of Ferrovial Services<\/a>. In 2014, Amey overhauled the public lighting system\u00a0using LED technology and has been\u00a0responsible for\u00a0the maintenance of the same since then.<\/p>\n

These contracts are the latest to be added to the list of replacement and maintenance contracts for public lighting systems\u00a0that\u00a0Amey has\u00a0previously\u00a0implemented\u00a0in other locations throughout Britain.\u00a0In November 2017 the company was awarded the tender for the installation of 56,000 LED street lamps in Manchester<\/a> over a three year period. Amey is the first British company to implement LED infrastructures on a large scale, with more than 200,000 LED-technology street lamps already installed throughout Great Britain.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
