The closing ceremony, held on 2 July at the BBVA Open Space in Madrid, was attended by the ten entrepreneurs whose projects received support from the programme for the last six months, as well as numerous representatives of Ferrovial Services Spain<\/strong>, social and entrepreneurial institutions,\u00a0and the academy.<\/p>\n

Gamechangers&Cities is a social entrepreneurship programme aimed at supporting startups<\/strong> that will have a social impact and make cities more sustainable, in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal<\/strong> 11 under its 2030 Agenda. The programme was created by three institutions: Unlimited Spain, Ferrovial Services and Camilo Jos\u00e9 Cela University.<\/p>\n

Over six months, ten mentors from the company have supported the development and growth of ten projects that can now be incorporated into the Ferrovial Services business as added value in bids and sales initiatives, and as partners in offering clients a more comprehensive, distinctive offer.<\/p>\n

The projects included an app to make parks and urban green spaces accessible so that they can be visited and enjoyed by people with disabilities (Blind Explorer), a system of environmental indicators that enables municipalities to know the status of their natural environment and predict what it will be like in five years’ time (Green Urban Data), and a platform for putting\u00a0companies with waste into contact with companies that can use it as raw material for their production process (Recircular).<\/p>\n

From the standpoint of Ferrovial Services, this initiative enhances its corporate social responsibility<\/strong> through support for entrepreneurial projects that generate a positive impact on society; promotes a corporate culture that combines entrepreneurship and social impact; identifies new business opportunities and produces contact with open innovation environments; and firmly establishes the company as one that is committed to continuous improvement of conditions in the communities in which it operates.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
