{"id":89572,"date":"2019-08-08T09:19:27","date_gmt":"2019-08-08T07:19:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/?post_type=new&#038;p=89572"},"modified":"2022-12-21T08:58:29","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T07:58:29","slug":"remad-the-new-platform-to-exchange-items-in-madrid","status":"publish","type":"new","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/remad-the-new-platform-to-exchange-items-in-madrid\/","title":{"rendered":"ReMAD: the New Platform Developed by Ferrovial Services that Encourages Madrilenians to Exchange Items"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>This initiative, promoted by Madrid\u2019s Town Hall and developed by Ferrovial Services, <strong>aims for used objects to be exchanged and reused<\/strong> at municipal special waste collection sites.<\/p>\n<p>Through the online <strong>ReMAD<\/strong> platform, residents will be able to bring new life to objects in good condition that they no longer use, actively participating in a culture of<strong> circular economy<\/strong> in compliance with European directives.<\/p>\n<p>These objects, which can be exchanged at ReMAD spaces across the 16 municipal special waste collection sites, are divided into three categories: <strong>sports and leisure, children and babies, and home<\/strong>. Items that may be exchanged in the first category include board games, musical instruments, books, magazines, comics, video games, music, cinema, collections, and sports equipment. Residents will also be able to reuse babies\u2019 and children\u2019s toys and accessories (strollers, chairs, carriers&#8230;). Household furniture and other items such as flatware, utensils, and home improvement and gardening items may also find a new home through ReMAD.<\/p>\n<p>However, swapping clothing, footwear, electrical objects and appliances, food, beverages, and plants <strong>is not permitted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How does it work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The ReMAD platform allows users to publish their items and <strong>reserve objects through a points system<\/strong>. When they first register on the platform, users will receive 100 points and can start exchanging items. Then, when they drop off an item at a ReMAD site, they will get 100 points; when they take an item \u2013 which can be reserved through a catalog \u2013 50 points will be deducted.<\/p>\n<p>Residents may deposit and\/or withdraw a <strong>maximum of 10 items per month<\/strong> across the network (a single object or a group of objects is considered to be one unit: a book collection, flatware&#8230;). Items may be reserved for a period of 7 calendar days through the platform, and they can only be collected at the ReMAD site where they are located.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Waste in Madrid\u2019 is the message that welcomes residents to the ReMAD web platform, inviting them to contribute to creating a positive environmental and social impact.<\/p>\n<p>We invite you to join in and
