We believe that startups accelerate the innovation process with technologies and business models that, given their high level of risk, are more difficult to develop within the company. Thanks to startups, we can also find the talent that we are looking for within the company.&quot;            <\/blockquote>\n\n            <footer class=\"block-quote__footer\">\n                                    <p class=\"block-quote__author\" aria-label=\"\">\n                        <span class=\"block-quote__author-name\">Federico Fl\u00f3rez<\/span>\n                    <\/p>\n                                    <p class=\"block-quote__author-role\" aria-label=\"\">\n                        Chief Information and Innovation Officer at Ferrovial.                    <\/p>\n                            <\/footer>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>In all, 36 European companies were awarded: 12 with the <strong><em>Corporate Startup Stars of Europe<\/em><\/strong> award and 24 with the <strong><em>Open Innovation Challengers of <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Europe <\/em><\/strong>award<strong><em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those to receive the <em>Open Innovation Challengers<\/em> included Acciona, Amadeus, Banco Sabadell, Barclays Bank, BP, Bridgestone, Centrica, Cisco, EDP, Enag\u00e1s, Eneco, Ferrovial, FIEGE Logistics, Google for Startups, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, KBC, KPN, Nestl\u00e9, Orange, Pearson, Pfizer, Rabobank, Thomson Reuters, and Vodafone.<\/p>\n<p>The Scaleup Summit event also featured over <strong>70 startups<\/strong> as well as representatives from Cintra, Ferrovial Agroman, Wondo, and Innovaci\u00f3n Corporativa, which had more than in-person meetings with the startups that were of the most interest.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>About Scaleup Summit<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The summit is a meeting place hosted by <strong>SEP<\/strong> to reach agreements between startups (entrepreneurial companies in their initial phase), scaleups <em>(<\/em>startups that have some experience that want to launch on the international market), and large corporations. The aim is to promote collaboration agreements and an innovative European ecosystem through investments, acquisitions, and motivational programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Startup Europe Partnership (SEP)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SEP is a European platform for open innovation sponsored by the European Commission that is dedicated to transforming Europe\u2019s startups into scale-ups through agreements with corporations and multinationals. SEP is directed by <strong>Mind the Bridge,<\/strong> a global organization based in Europe and Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"photo-gallery \" id=\"\"
