The 407 ETR\u2019s designation as a highway for self-driving vehicles would position the Toronto area as a world leader in autonomous driving. The report published by the Toronto Region Board of Trade: \u201cGetting Ready for Autonomy: AVs for Safe, Clean and Inclusive Mobility in the Toronto Region\u201d<\/em><\/strong> looks at the strengths that will enable Toronto to roll out the \u201cAV Highway of the Americas\u201d successfully.<\/p>\n

The report shows an infrastructure connected to vehicles to maximize road safety, with one lane exclusively for self-driving cars. The \u201cAV<\/strong> Highway of the Americas\u201d<\/strong> would set the region ahead of any other city in North America.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n
