The airport<\/a> has worked to help its surrounding community by also donating 70\u00a0laptops<\/strong> to local primary schools around the airport over the last two months from funds from the Heathrow Executive team, which have been raised through the recycling of airport IT equipment. Heathrow has even developed online educational resources<\/strong> for teachers and parents to support home schooling for those who may not be\u00a0returning\u00a0to class.<\/p>\n

During this unprecedented time, offering support to the community has been critical. Last May, the UK\u2019s hub airport donated 5,000 FFP3<\/strong> face masks and 60,000 liquid bags<\/strong> to NHS teams, 9,500 chocolate\u00a0eggs for local children and\u00a0more. Additionally, the Heathrow Community Trust (HCT) granted \u00a395,000<\/strong> in rapid emergency funding for local community groups responding to COVID-19, including food banks<\/strong> and support services for the isolated and vulnerable.<\/p>\n
