\"Award<\/p>\n

Every day throughout the almost\u00a0<\/span>three<\/span>\u00a0months<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>confinement<\/span>, we stepped out onto our balconies to cheer as a sign of gratitude to the country<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s healthcare workers. Their efforts, dedication, and tireless work against COVID-19 have made them the true heroes of this health crisis.\u00a0This is why\u00a0Ferrovial sponsored this tribute organized by the newspaper\u00a0<\/span>La\u00a0Raz\u00f3n<\/span><\/i>\u00a0recognizing the work of<\/span>\u00a026 organizations<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the award recipients was the Community of Madrid<\/a><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/a>s Emergency Medical Service (SUMMA)<\/a>. Our Director of Communications and CSR,\u00a0<\/span>Juan Francisco Polo<\/span><\/b>, presented the plaque to the managing director of SUMMA,\u00a0<\/span>Pablo\u00a0Busca,\u00a0<\/span><\/b>on behalf of all the workers whose efforts were essential to saving many lives.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, t<\/span>he president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel D\u00edaz Ayuso<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0specifically mentioned the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>IFEMA field hospital<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>set up<\/span>\u00a0by Ferrovial workers<\/span>\u00a0to alleviate hospital saturation<\/span>\u00a0during the worst weeks of the pandemic:\u00a0<\/span>\u201ca testimony to life and how\u00a0<\/span>we<\/span>\u00a0have to work.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the opening of the event,\u00a0<\/span>the director of the\u00a0<\/span>La\u00a0Raz\u00f3n<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>newspaper<\/span>, Francisco Marhuenda,<\/span>\u00a0similarly stated, \u201cThe act\u00a0<\/span>creates satisfaction and sadness because we would have preferred this pandemic never to have happened. But if there is\u00a0something\u00a0we have learned from it, it<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s that we have high-level healthcare workers and an extraordinary capacity for sacrifice.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Our commitment,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u2018<\/span><\/span>Ferrovial Together COVID-19<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Fund<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s aim is to provide financial resources to health administrations, hospitals, universities, and research or development centers, as well as NGOs in a series of specific projects\u00a0<\/span>focused<\/span>\u00a0on acquiring healthcare products<\/strong> and medical equipment and investigating pharmacological or vaccine solutions<\/strong> to combat the effects of the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus. We\u00a0<\/span>have also\u00a0<\/span>allocated financial resources<\/span>\u00a0from the Fund to help vulnerable groups<\/strong> or those at risk of exclusion\u00a0<\/span>as a\u00a0<\/span>result of the current health crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Ferrovial, we see our<\/span>\u00a0investment in the community as an instrument for developing society and the environment\u00a0<\/span>in which we work<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>That<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s why we set up the <\/span>\u201cFerrovial Together COVID-19<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0fund at the beginning of the health crisis<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>It\u00a0<\/span>has an endowment of up to \u20ac10 million<\/span>, with which we<\/span>\u2019<\/span>ve raised<\/span>\u00a0funds\u00a0<\/span>to fight the pandemic<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
