Ferrovial’s<\/span><\/a>\u00a0climate strategy<\/a> has been\u00a0<\/span>acknowledged\u00a0<\/span>once again, this time by the World Finance magazine with its ‘Sustainability Awards 2020’<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span>. Ferrovial supports the United Nations’ 2030 sustainable development agenda.\u00a0<\/span>As such, w<\/span>e value activities that have\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>lower environmental impact<\/strong> and promote the circular economy<\/strong>, as well as\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>commitment to low-emission products and services<\/strong>, lower carbon and water footprints<\/strong>, and preserving and bolstering natural capital.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2009, Ferrovial has measured 100% of greenhouse gas emissions\u00a0<\/a><\/span>from\u00a0<\/span><\/a>its activities<\/a> worldwide to shrink our carbon footprint. In 2019, our emissions were 59% lower<\/strong> than in 2009, reflecting our commitment to the strategy for meeting these objectives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>World Finance’s ‘Sustainability Awards 2020’<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

These awards recognize companies that are aware of their impact on society and on the planet. Today, companies around the world are establishing sustainability as a fundamental pillar for developing their products and services. With these awards, the World Finance magazine recognizes companies that take this responsibility seriously. Recipients implement measures needed and are constantly seeking improvements.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The sector’s most sustainable company globally, according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Last September, Ferrovial was ranked the world leader in the construction and engineering sector, according to the\u00a0<\/span>Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This recognition certified the company’s environmental, social<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and economic strengths. Ferrovial also got the highest score in its sector for the Environmental section, with the highest possible score in Materiality, Eco-efficiency, and Climate Strategy, to name a few.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
