Due to<\/span>\u00a0the emergency situation\u00a0<\/span>that has arisen\u00a0<\/span>from the coronavirus<\/span>\u00a0pandemic<\/span>, Ferrovial\u00a0<\/span>has\u00a0<\/span>allocated \u20ac300,000 to the\u00a0<\/span>Action Against Hunger<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Colombia. This NGO is responsible for supporting and working on behalf of those most affected and at risk of poverty through its projects involving water, sanitation and hygiene, and food security and livelihoods. It<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0been operating in Colombia since 1998. Since<\/span>\u00a0then<\/span>, it has been able to help more than\u00a0<\/span>90,000 people<\/span><\/b>\u00a0better their lives.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout<\/span>\u00a0the COVID-19 pandemic, many who are vulnerable and at risk of exclusion have been in\u00a0<\/span>heightened<\/span>\u00a0danger. Action Against Hunger has adapted its intervention strategy to expand its reach and help those who need\u00a0<\/span>that support\u00a0<\/span>more than ever.<\/span><\/p>\n

The donation will go to increasing coverage\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>its programs and helping high-risk families living in vulnerable areas, including rural and indigenous\u00a0<\/span>populations<\/span>. They will work in over 20 locations in the capital of Bogota,\u00a0<\/span>from\u00a0<\/span>the districts of Santa Fe, San\u00a0<\/span>Crist\u00f3bal<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Teusaquillo<\/span>, Kennedy,\u00a0<\/span>Usme<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Usaqu\u00e9n<\/span>, and Ciudad Bolivar.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is part of the “Ferrovial Together COVID-19” Fund. Through this initiative, the company has already distributed \u20ac8.69 million to entities fighting the pandemic\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>the fields of social issues, health, and research in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Poland, and Portugal.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
