{"id":104283,"date":"2021-12-09T14:08:16","date_gmt":"2021-12-09T13:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/?post_type=press_release&#038;p=104283"},"modified":"2024-10-04T08:37:27","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T06:37:27","slug":"ferrovial-awarded-construction-of-two-roads-in-texas-for-usd-161-5-million","status":"publish","type":"press_release","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/press-releases\/ferrovial-awarded-construction-of-two-roads-in-texas-for-usd-161-5-million\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial awarded construction of two roads in Texas for USD 161.5 million"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <ul>\n<li>Ferrovial is expanding its footprint in one of its core markets<\/li>\n<li>Webber, a Ferrovial subsidiary, is currently working on 49 projects in Texas and Georgia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ferrovial, through its US construction subsidiary Webber, has been selected by the Texas Department of Transportation to build two sections of road in Guadalupe and Hays counties, Texas, for USD 161.5 million (equivalent to approximately \u20ac142 million euro).<\/p>\n<p>The first of the projects involves expanding IH-10, an urban interstate freeway, by 7.8 kilometers in Guadalupe County. The project includes building two new main lane overpasses and three frontage road bridges, as well as reconstruction of adjacent roads and intersections at Zuehl and Santa Clara roads. Work is expected to begin in March 2022 and take 50 months to complete.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial&#8217;s US subsidiary will also build a 10.1 km road in Hays County. This project, which includes the construction of four bridges, is expected to take 24 months starting in March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Webber is currently working on 49 separate projects in Texas and Georgia. This US subsidiary of Ferrovial recently announced it had been awarded a USD 1.5 billion contract to widen I-35 in San Antonio. It was also selected in recent months to rebuild a section of I-35 in Texas for USD 81 million, and to renovate and rebuild highway FM 1960 in Houston for USD 70 million.<\/p>\n<p>These contracts contribute to Ferrovial&#8217;s Horizon 24 plan, which identifies the United States as a core market.
